Bloodstone Gnomes


Faction Doctrines

A Bloodstone Gnomes player may choose one, and only one, of the doctrines below. The player gains all of the benefits of the chosen doctrine.
 
Tunneler Doctrine
They Came from Below
The deployment of any one troop may be delayed until later in the game. During the End Phase of any Game Turn, the player may deploy the delayed Troop within 3" of any edge of the battlefield (even in the enemy's Deployment Zone). That Troop's initiative card is not added to the Draw Deck until it is deployed. The Troop then activates as normal starting on the next Game Turn.
 
Chaotic Behavior
When an opponent tries to Spy a Bloodstone Gnome initiative card, they must make a 10+ Roll for the Spy to be successful. Modify the 10+ Roll based on the Spy model's Rank:
  • +1 if the Spy is a Sergeant
  • +2 if it is a Captain or an Elite
  • +3 if it is a Warlord or a Solo
Failing the roll means the Spy ability has no effect but is still used up.
 
Return to Me Doctrine
Living Rock
The Lesser Bloodstone Golem and Greater Bloodstone Golem gain the Special Ability Summoned (Spellcaster). Up to once per Game Turn, they may be summoned by a Spellcaster even after they are deployed on the table. LOS is not required. Discipline Checks are not required to leave B2B if the Golem was in B2B with enemy models. Each Golem may only be summoned once per Game Turn.

Warlord Benefits

Warlords bring a certain presence with them to the battlefield. When fielding a Warlord, the following benefits are gained:

Kurand the Ever Living Beckoning Call Once per game, as a Specialty Action, Kurand may call any or all models in his Troop to him. A separate 10+ Casting Check is made for each model he calls. All models successfully called have to appear within 3" of Kurand.
Herald of Blood Essence of Stone When the Herald of Blood is destroyed (and fails any Life Seize checks it could make), it explodes. Treat the explosion as if casting a Blood Storm spell, centered on the Herald of Blood, with a CP of 7.

Bloodstone Shard Special 10 UNIQUE: Model gains the Innate Spell (Blood Net) SA. If the model does not have a CP, then it gains CP 6 and 4 Spell Points.
Necklace of Worm Teeth Special 10 UNIQUE: Model gains the Burrow SA (with a Special Movement rate equal to the model's MOV).

Affect: Spellcaster harnesses the power of the bloodstone and chooses one Stone Zealot within 15" of the Spellcaster and one or two additional Stone Zealots no more than 8" from the first Stone Zealot. Spellcaster must have LOS to at least one of the chosen Stone Zealots. Upon casting, the energy bounces between those two or three Stone Zealots, forming a line or triangle. Any enemy model that is touched by the line or triangle, or whose base is encompassed by the triangle, is affected by the spell. Casting Checks are made for each model as normal, doing 1 point of damage to each model. Stone Zealots may not be included in more than one Blood Net spell per Activation.

Affect: Models take 1 point of damage. As long as at least one enemy model takes damage, then all friendly models in the AoE gain the Bloodlust SA for the remainder of the current Activation.

Affect: Any models in the Spellcaster's Troop may choose to gain +2 MAV for all melee attacks performed during the current Activation. At the end of the current Activation, any models who used this bonus are removed from the battlefield as casualties.
